Biometric Testing

Submission of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees on Migration Legislation Amendment (Identification and Authentication) Bill

Submitted September 2003

Legislation aimed at combating identity fraud proposes biometric testing. This submission proposes additional safeguards and stresses the importance of the principles of privacy and confidentiality.
