Launch
of the World Refugee Flags by the Chief Minister.
The ACT government will fly World Refugee Day flags
in the parliamentary zone to mark World Refugee Day.
Where: Commonwealth Bridge, Kings

Lighting in blue of the Captain Cook Jet on Lake Burley Griffin and other key Canberra icons.
The National Capital Authority will light the National
Carillon to coincide with the lighting of the Jet d'eau in
Geneva, Switzerland. Other key public buildings will
also be lit blue.
Where: The National Carillon on Aspen Island, the
National Art Gallery, Questacon, the National Archives
and the National Library, Old Parliament House, Canberra.
When: 16-20 June, 5.00pm- 8.00pm.
Citizenship Ceremony
Immigration Minister Senator Amanda Vanstone will host a citizenship ceremony for refugees. The event will be attended by refugees, embassies, national refugee advocacy groups and community organisations. This event will coincide with other citizenship ceremonies around the country to coincide with WRD.

World Refugee Day poster, photographic and information display
The ACT Refugee Resettlement Committee
will be hosting a WRD event at St John the Apostle Parish.
Visitors will be able to sign the 'Welcome Book'.

a lunch forum to mark World Refugee Day at the Immigration
Museum. The event will be hosted by the Parliamentary
Secretary for Justice, Ms Jenny Mikakos MP and to explore
this years theme of 'hope', a panel of newly arrived
refugees will participate in a discussion of the experiences
and challenges of settling into a new country.
