Looking for a speaker with an inspirational story?

UNHCR has launched a new Refugee Speakers' Bureau in Melbourne to help increase understanding about refugee issues through the telling of personal stories.  Our Bureau is made up of former refugees happy to volunteer their time and share their stories with Australians by speaking to clubs, community groups, schools, universities and conferences.

How to book a speaker

Are you a former refugee willing to share your story?

People selected for the Speakers' Bureau receive training in public speaking and other aspects of telling their stories through a training programme developed by UNHCR in partnership with expert organisations such as the Australian Red Cross.

If you are a former refugee and are interested in becoming one of our speakers, please email aulcapi@unhcr.org for an Expression of Interest form or phone UNHCR on +61 2 6281 9108.
